• GirlForward is seeking a Teacher to join our team during our summer camp (July 7th-August 1st) in Austin, TX. This position is focused on leading our summer camp team (including interns) through a 4-week direct academic program using a literacy-based curriculum that explores themes of identity, community, and power through classroom instruction and field trips.

      Two weeks are dedicated for planning and closure of summer camp. Building relationships with the community while exploring themes of identity, power, and community are integral to success in this role. The teacher works with and reports to the Senior Program Manager to discuss weekly lesson plans, conduct daily debriefs, and confirm field trips.

    • GirlForward is seeking a Mentoring Program Manager to join our team full-time in Chicago. This role is central to our mission, focusing on facilitating meaningful relationships between volunteer mentors, mentees, and families while managing the day-to-day operations of our Mentoring Program. The Program Manager oversees the entire mentor lifecycle—including recruitment, screening, training, monitoring, and ongoing support. Our Mentoring Program pairs girls with mentors to engage in "4W" activities (Wellness, Wisdom, Wallet, and World), empowering mentees to explore their passions, graduate from high school, and pursue their post-secondary journeys. Additionally, the Program Manager will plan events for all participants to cultivate a powerful community. Building community relationships while exploring themes of identity and power is integral to success in this role. This position reports directly to the Director of Programs and Operations to establish programmatic vision, goals, and impact objectives.

    GENERAL INTERNSHIP REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

    Desired qualifications include:

    • Current college or graduate student

    • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.

    • Organizational skills and attention to detail.

    • Ability to work well independently in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

    • The ability to communicate in Pashto, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, or Burmese is a plus but optional.

    • Must have a strong commitment to social justice and community engagement.

    • Must believe in cultural humility and critically analyze their own identity, culture, power, and belief system in relation to the community. 

    • Must believe in the power of girls to create positive change in their communities and the world.

    • Additional qualifications for specific roles will be listed below.
